We first established in 1964 with the companys original founders Peter and Margaret Jackson who at the time lived above the shop and raised a family having 3 children, the second of these children was David, who followed in his fathers footsteps and became an electrician. In the late 1970's the shop expanded and took over the premises next door, thus creating the large showroom we still have today. Electrodec was originally named so due to the electrical and decorative products we sold including wallpaper and homeware, but lighting was always our main focus and passion, and the shop soon prided itself on being known as "The Happy lighting shop"
In 2010 Davids youngest son Matthew joined the team, following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather becoming an electrician. In 2014 we celebrated the shops 50th birthday. The shop underwent a facelift both inside and out, changing its colour scheme. We also dedicated one of our windows showing the retro style products which the shop would've sold in the 1960's, along with old shop signage from decades gone by. We had a brithday party for the shop with a 60's theme, staying open for a late night shopping event and inviting back previous staff members for celebrations and a trip down memory lane.
